MALT BARLEY

EXPORT PROGRAM

NOW OPEN

The Opportunity

Gain Exposure to Global Grain Values

Drought in Canada, a return to normal production in Australia.
And a dry finish in Europe, resulting in low malt selection that has considerably tightened global supplies of Malt Barley.

Australian malting barley prices currently present good value globally.
And following harvest pressure we can expect to see a robust demand picture play out, underpinned by the return of consistent China demand, the world’s largest malt barley importer. The large Victorian crop will pressure export costs higher vs South Australia and Western Australia and very competitive container freight rates ex East Coast will see exports flow in containers over bulk, leaving the bulk business to South Australia and Western Australia.

Capitalise on this opportunity.
Flexi Grain is accumulating an export parcel of Malt Barley to be shipped ex Lucky Bay and Wallaroo with intended sale and shipment in the first quarter of 2024. Participating growers will have full exposure to prevailing global malt values at the time of sale.

Participating growers will have full exposure to prevailing global malt values at the time of sale.

Currency risk will be actively managed via a hedging strategy during grain accumulation.

Accumulated grain may be repositioned (sold in one port zone and re-purchased in another port zone or swapped across port zones amongst the trade) into Port Zones where Flexi Grain has access to shipping capacity.
